Mood Lighting

Fireman's Nozzle #1

500 variable brightness "rice" LEDs on a welded steel armature rise in a spray from a vintage variable pattern fireman's nozzle of chrome plated steel and cast brass parts. The 140-year-old base is carved from a retired floor joist in our firehouse and contains the electronics that control the LEDs. The LEDs produce enough light to read by with no other lighting, but your mother would complain.
Dimensions: 54" x 27" x 27"
Status: Available.

Fireman's Nozzle #2

A vintage tapered straight stream brass firefighting nozzle spraying 300 "rice" LEDs in a curving flow pattern.
Dimensions: 13" x 2.5" x variable spray to a maximum 54" total length.
Status: Available.

Starlight

A Lucas, aka "Prince of Darkness," foglamp shell loosely embraces 100 3500K (bright white) LEDs on copper wire, spilling onto a wooden armrest from my maternal grandfather's dining chair on a hand-hammered aluminum base.
Dimensions: 12" x 12" x 11"
Status: Sold. Unique elements.

Experiment #1

A resin and lace draped sphere with 300 "rice" LEDs embedded in the matrix. This is an experiment in combining these slow-to-set, non-rigid elements on a round form to determine what problems will arise. I did not expect this to turn out this well, however it's too ugly on the inside to sell.

Dimensions: 11" x 13" x 10"

Another Saint Alight

Cast and hand painted lead female saint from Ecuador pleads upward on a crushed red-velvet backing in a silver and gold metal leafed round frame. 100 LED "rice" lights surround the inside and backside of the frame.

Dimensions: 11" x 11" x 3"

Status: Artist's collection
